Al Turki Main League 40-40 begins at EPCA

Eastern Province Cricket Association (EPCA) tournament played under the banner of Al Turki Main League 40-40, sponsored by Al Turki in the memory of late Sikander Kamal Farooqui witnessed some exciting matches in the first week.
Premier Division
Fireox Unit Cricket Club outplayed Sikandar Kamal Farooqui Kings C.C by 56 runs. Batting first FUCC posted the total of 326/5 in 35 overs, Umair Ashraf smashed 108 off 81 and Zeeshan Butt crafted 66 off 50 balls. Shiraz and Ejaz grabbed 2 wickets each. In reply, SKFKCC was restricted to 270 in 33.3 overs. Nair Khan made 140 off 80 balls, Naveed grabbed 6/59.
Pak Saudi CC defeated SAQ Hunters PTI CC by 8 wickets. SHPCC posted total of 214/10 in 40 overs. Umair Awan scoring 51 off 56 balls, Abaid ur Rehman smashed 50 off 44, Imran and Atif grabbed 3 wickets each. In reply, PSCC chased the target in 21 overs, Imran scored 105 off 59, Abaid and Rehman took 1 wicket each.
In another match, Bilal Tigers CC defeated AAC CC by 5 wickets. Batting first AACCC posted score of 202 in 40 overs, Zahid scored 49 off 31, Bilal Butt grabbed 4 wickets. In reply, BTCC chased the target in 30 overs, Abdul Waheed scoring 82 off 80 balls, Munawar scoring 56 off 57, Yasin grabbing 2 wickets.
Kanoo Strikers CC won against Pan Gulf C.C by 1 run in a thriller. Batting first, KSCC posted score of 187 in allotted 40 overs, Shoaib scored 65 off 63, Khawar grabbing 4 wickets. In reply, PGCC restricted to 186 in 32 overs. Mohsin Rajput scored 67, Salman Ali Khan took 5/42 in 8 overs.
Prime Division
Enerco C.C defeated ECI Risers by 9 wickets, ECIRCC batting first posted 214 in 40 overs, Mehrban scored 50 runs, Akhter Ali grabbed 5 wickets. In reply ENCC chased the target in 32 overs, Mehtab scored 104 not out and Asad Abbas scored 64 off 61.
Globelink West Star Shipping CC won against DHL Snas CC by 109 runs. Batting first, GWSCC posted 308/8 in 40 overs, Nizar scored 97 off 62 balls, Imran Talib took 2 wickets. In Reply, DHLSCC restricted to 199/8 in 40 overs. Iftikhar scored 86. Afsal, Praveen and Abuthahir took 2 wickets each.
First Division
AUR Associates CC defeated Adpco Friends CC by 145 runs. Batting first AASCC posted huge total of 321 in 40 overs, Ahsan Naqvi scored 124 runs off 89 balls. Mohammad Khaja took 3 wickets. In reply, AFCC were bundled out for 176 in 29 overs, Vasim and Abdul Azeez scoring 42 runs each. Ali Mehdi grabbed 3 wickets.
Weatherford Al-Rushaid Stars CC won against Kashmir Strikers CC by 181 runs. Batting first WRCC posted the score of 335/8 in 40 overs, Wasim scoring 151 of 110, Abid scored 92 off 63. Mubashir grabbing 4/59. In reply, KSCC were bundled out for 154 in 28 overs. Majid took 3/39 in 8 overs.
Intelligent Hawks CC defeated Khobar Knight Riders CC by 88 runs. Batting first, IHCC posted the total of 251/8 in 40 overs, Aamir Shahzad scoring 82 off 89 balls, Kamraen grabbing 3 wickets. In reply, KKRCC were bundled out for 163 in 34 overs, Aamir Shahzad grabbed 4 wickets and Sajid took 3 wickets. — SG
