Published in The Saudi Gazette on 09 - 12 - 2019

As a step toward strengthening its long-standing commitment to Saudi Arabia, KFC, the world's largest chicken restaurant, on Monday announced its partnership with the Kingdom's leading poultry companies and suppliers to source its chicken from local farms. This partnership will entail the supply of fresh chicken on-the-bone to over 200 KFC restaurants in KSA daily, by Almarai's premium poultry brand, Alyoum, as well as from Al-Watania Poultry, the largest poultry establishment in the Middle East, and Tanmiah Food Group, a brand with more than 50 years in the food and the agriculture business.
KFC restaurants have been serving ‘finger-lickin' good' fried chicken to more than 55,000 customers in the Kingdom every single day since 1975.
Sabir Sami, Managing Director, KFC, Yum! Brands, MENAPaKT, said: "At KFC, making the Colonel's chicken means only using the finest ingredients and freshest food products. As a global brand with local resonance, our partnership with KSA's leading local companies like Almarai, Al-Watania Poultry and Tanmiah Food Group is testament to this commitment and unites us in a shared passion to consistently serve the best quality, craveable taste, to our customers. We are proud to empower local farmers in contributing to a brighter and more stable future for the nation, and in doing so, support the Kingdom's growth, job creation and economic diversification objectives."
Amarpal Sandhu, Chief Operating Officer, Americana – Restaurants Division, added: "Every KFC restaurant in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is serving the freshest and most delicious chicken which is locally raised and sourced. We are passionate about delivering on the Colonel's promise to always serve ‘finger-lickin' good' chicken to our valued customers. KFC's new partnership with the most reputable local poultry suppliers in KSA demonstrates our commitment to Saudi consumers and businesses.
KFC ensures only the freshest and best tasting products are served to KFC customers in KSA and marks the latest milestone in KFC's ongoing collaboration with 19 local suppliers across the Kingdom. — SG
