MiSK/AMAALA aims to hone skills of promising Saudi youth
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 04 - 11 - 2019

RIYADH — The MiSK Initiatives Center, an affiliate of MiSK Foundation, has launched a program that provides young Saudis opportunities to develop their professional skills and enrich their practical experience. This can be achieved through MiSK/AMAALA Corporate Internship Program, one of the most prominent national projects. It is expected to change the features of tourism in the Kingdom.
The program aims to prepare fresh graduates of both the genders to join the labor market and double their chances of getting jobs, by joining practical activities, aside from the most outstanding world talents for developing the "Middle East Riviera" in the northwest of the Kingdom, along the Red Sea, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.
The program is a highly personalized and innovative talent development initiative aimed to attract and develop young talents allowing them to put into practice knowledge and skills acquired during their studies.
The program provides unique exposure for interns to work alongside some of the world's greatest talent as AMAALA transcends the traditional boundaries of a master developer to conceptualize, build, and operate an integrated destination that establishes, promotes and preserves the Red Sea Riviera.
The Misk/AMAALA internship is a six-month program where trainees will work in a flexible and dynamic environment at the AMAALA Corporate Office in Riyadh. The program will start with a detailed orientation and on-boarding followed by an immersion period to familiarize the trainee with his department's tasks and responsibilities.
During his internship, the trainee will work alongside a designated team leader to gain exposure into his discipline and put his knowledge into practice. He will also collaborate with other team members in project management and delivery.
The AMAALA Project, launched by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) last year, relies on introducing and establishing a new concept of luxury tourism that focuses on recuperation, health and treatment. It will be launched on an area of 3,800 sq. meters (1,460 sq. miles) and its target is to attract 2.5 million tourists and provide about 22,000 job opportunities.
AMAALA is considered to be part of the Saudi mega projects portfolio that contributes to attracting more investments, developing a new system of tourism in the Kingdom and enhancing its role in diversifying the economy and providing high value job opportunities, such that they are in tandem with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
