RIYADH — ‘Furijat' service is receiving a hug response from citizens and expatriates to help settle the debts owed by detainees facing financial cases, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said. This service has contributed to securing the release of many detainees involved in (noncriminal) financial offenses. Such detainees have been able to share with their families the celebration of the Kingdom's National Day. Work is underway to complete procedures for the remaining detainees, who will benefit from the response of the citizens, expatriates and the private sector companies and establishments to this humanitarian service. The number of people who have benefited from the Furijat service have totaled over 1,000 in different regions of the Kingdom, and the total amount paid till now has exceeded SR40 million. This service enables citizens and expatriates alike to donate to help financial rights prisoners settle their debts via "Absher" platform with high credibility and privacy. It is noteworthy that there are ongoing studies to further develop ‘Furijat' service. The first stage of the service has been earmarked for detainees in noncriminal financial cases, provided ta detainee does not have other cases against him. The second stage includes military detainees facing financial cases. This covers all the military sectors. This service is one of the Ministry of Interior initiatives, with which it wants to goad the society to lending a hand to detainees facing financial cases. At the same time, it intends to enhance the humanitarian and social perspective obligation in the hearts of the sons of this dear nation.
