RIYADH — Nearly 460,000 title deeds have been updated since the launch of the service for updating deeds, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) announced here on Monday. In the past 12 months alone, over 116,000 deeds were updated, including 2,606 ones filed through the updating e-service available on the ministry's online portal at www.moj.gov.sa. Launched among the ministry's NTP 2020 initiatives, the title deed digitization project aims to enhance property services and simplify property management procedures. Digital services include enabling inquiries about property, finding out the status of a title deed, conveying property electronically, and obtaining a replacement deed, among others. The ministry believes that those services contribute to the progress of Saudi property sector, and enhance the efficiency of property transactions. In addition, the initiative improves property security by providing property owners with a secure environment through simplified procedures on the ministry's platform for legal e-services "Najiz". The portal is part of efforts to unify judicial proceedings, apply digital transformation in institutionalizing the judiciary and speed up the litigation process. The new portal was set after restructuring the procedures adopted in all courts of KSA and limiting it to 78, and a new judicial procedure system document was set and digitized.
