JEDDAH – The Council of Ministers on Tuesday reiterated Saudi Arabia's call to the Yemeni government and all parties involved in the conflict in Aden to hold a meeting in the Kingdom to iron out differences and reach reconciliation.
"This call reflects the Kingdom's keenness on prevailing wisdom and dialogue among the Yemeni parties, as well as their renouncing division, halting strife and closing ranks to confront the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militia and other terrorist organizations so as to retrieve their state and return Yemen into a stable and secure country," the Cabinet, chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, said in a statement.
Minister of Commerce and Investment and Acting Minister of Media Majed Al-Qasabi was quoted by Saudi Press Agency as saying that the Cabinet stressed on the joint statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, citing the keenness and efforts of the two countries to preserve the state of Yemen and the interests of the Yemeni people, as well as its security, stability, independence, unity and territorial integrity under the leadership of the legitimate Yemeni president.
While underscoring the significance of confronting the coup of the Houthi militia and other terrorist organizations, the statement called for accelerated engagement in the Jeddah dialogue, which the Kingdom called for to address the causes and repercussions of events in some southern governorates, and rejecting and denouncing accusations and defamation campaigns targeting the United Arab Emirates following these events.
Al-Qasabi said the Cabinet congratulated King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman on the success of the Haj season wherein about 2.49 million pilgrims performed their rituals in ease and comfort.
The King, Al-Qasabi said, lauded the sincere hard work and great efforts exerted by various government and private agencies in making available the best possible services for the Guests of Allah. He thanked and appreciated the efforts of the chairman and members of the Supreme Haj Committee, emirs of different regions, security personnel and all those involved in serving the pilgrims.
The minister said the Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom's condemnation of Israeli forces storming Al-Aqsa Mosque and attacking worshipers on the first day of Eid Al-Adha. Rejecting the continuous Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, the Cabinet called on the international community to join forces to protect the Palestinian people from Israeli aggressive practices.
The Cabinet congratulated Sudan on the historic agreement reached by all parties, affirming the Kingdom's blessing for the agreement aimed at achieving the interest of Sudan, preserving its security, safety and stability and realizing the aspirations of the Sudanese people. It also stressed the Kingdom's keenness on everything that guarantees Sudan's security, stability and standing with all parties, deriving from the historical and fraternal relations between the two countries and the appreciation of the role being played by Sudan in achieving security and stability at regional and international arenas.
