Saudi judoka Saud Manee' landed the gold medal in the Asian Cup Juniors Judo Championship, in a historic first, in Hong Kong. Manee', a member of the national junior team, defeated his Korean rival in the finals, to be crowned champion, Saudi Press Agency reported Saturday. This medal is the first gold medal to be won by a Saudi in the history of Judo at the level of Asian championships. In addition, Saudi judokas Sabti Al-Ruwaili and Yazeed Al-Enizi won bronze medals competing in the 66 and 60 kgs categories in the championship. Meanwhile, President of the Saudi Judo Federation Brig. Gen. Khalid Al-Areeni congratulated the nation on this winning performance. He said: "I congratulate the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the hero Saud Manee' and all my colleagues in the federation, including administrators and trainers, for this accomplishment which is a result of the collective efforts towards presenting more champions in this sport." — SPA
