Okaz/Saudi Gazette BISHA — About 25 percent of doctors working at King Abdullah Hospital in Bisha have been banned from traveling abroad because of lawsuits accusing them of committing medical mistakes. According to medical sources, most of the doctors who have allegedly committed medical errors are working in the departments of surgery and gynecology. The sources said despite the lawsuits filed against them, the doctors are doing their jobs as usual at their departments and outpatient clinics. The department of health affairs said it had established committees to follow up the cases against the hospital and its doctors for medical mistakes that resulted in deaths or permanent disabilities. A number of patients said they are scared to go to some clinics in the hospital for fear of medical mistakes that may end their lives. Meanwhile, the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf) will organize a vocational confluence at the fund's headquarters in Riyadh on Tuesday for the employment of bachelor's degree and diploma holders in various health specializations. The confluence is being jointly organized with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, the health affairs and the private sector. Hadaf asked all graduates to attend the confluence with a view to applying for available jobs. It said the graduates of medicine and other health specializations may apply electronically or visit one of the fund's offices. Hadaf has turned all its 22 offices scattered all over the Kingdom into training and rehabilitation centers for young Saudi men and women job seekers.
