Published in The Saudi Gazette on 18 - 03 - 2019

LuLu, the largest hypermarket chain in the region, launched its annual British food festival "Food is Great Britain: Truly British, Truly Delicious". The weeklong fest from March 18 to 24 offers a wide variety of food products imported from the UK. The launch event was inaugurated by British Ambassador Simon Collis at LuLu Hypermarket in Riyadh. British Consul General Seifeldin Usher inaugurated the event in Jeddah and Director British Trade Office Gary Hunt opened the fest in Al Khobar.
Speaking at the occasion in Riyadh, Collis said, "I invite everyone to visit LuLu Hypermarket's annual Best of British Festival. Over the last few years the "British Week" has been very successful and gives people in Saudi Arabia the opportunity to enjoy the extraordinary variety and high quality of British food and cuisine. I am particularly pleased that this event is being held with active support from LuLu's British subsidiary, the logistics and packaging center in Birmingham, a vital part of the Lulu Group's strong partnership with the UK."
Shehim Mohammed, director Lulu Saudi Hypermarkets, said: "For over two decades of serving a multi-ethnic customer base, LuLu has managed the lifestyle needs of both the locals and expat community. From food offerings to fashion, home essentials, electronics, and much more, it is a one-stop shop that showcases global flavors and culture. ‘Food is Great Britain' is one such event that puts a spotlight on the traditional flavors, culture and quality produce of the UK. Our British sourcing offices and food processing units have helped us become successful in guaranteeing non-stop supply at the most competitive prices all year round."
With over 163 stores operating worldwide, LuLu has continuously been exerting its greatest efforts to provide and sustain the supply of global products at the best rates.
