ON one inspirational night in Paris, audiobooks platform "Kitab Sawti" signed the biggest agreement yet in the Arabic audiobooks market together with Tanweer Publishing House. In light of this partnership, a list of the world's best-selling international releases will be available in audio format on Kitab Sawti's platform for a global Arab audience to enjoy and tune into. "The new partnership with Dar Al Tanweer represents a strong boost to our audio library, emphasising on the leading role of Kitab Sawti in the Arab publishing world," says Kitab Sawti's Publishing Manager Hossam Al-Gomati adding "It is no secret that Dar El Tanwir holds an exceptional collection of award-winning titles, and our cooperation will enable us to ensure the Global Arab listener's accessibility to those releases," With 1,500 produced audiobooks across different literary-genres, Kitab Sawti is the largest Arabic audiobooks library in the world offering a sophisticated mash-up of quantity and quality. In the first phase of the agreement, the platform is expected to release the top international titles such as Stephen Hawking's "A brief history of time", the 2018 Booker Winner "Flights" for Polish writer Olga Tokarzuk, the Drama-adopted thriller "Conflict of Arush" viewed by millions around the world, and many more of the most internationally acclaimed titles granted exclusively to Kitab Sawti subscribers. "This agreement is the beginning of a promising cooperation between the two parties to develop the digital Arabic content in the coming years and enrich the Arabic culture, providing the Arab reader with all the new releases at the shortest timeframe with the lowest possible price," said Sheriff Joseph Rizk, director of Dar Al Tanweer. Notably, Dar Al Tanweer won the Sheikh Zayed Book Award for 2018 in the Publishing and Cultural Technologies Branch in recognition of its role in promoting Arab culture while preserving the intellectual property rights of authors and translators and complying with the highest standards of publishing.
