JEDDAH — The Jeddah Municipality has established 23 fitness trails in various parts of the city and is currently working on the execution of the 24th in Al-Hamadaniya district along the Makkah-Madinah Expressway. The latest trail will be 1,875 meters long and 15 meters wide. According to local press repots on Monday, these paths for walkers have a total length of 50,000 meters. The municipality said the projects were aimed at driving the residents to practice the sport of walking so as to improve the quality of life for them. According to the municipality, the fitness trails have attracted a large number of men and women to walk in a safe environment. The municipality said the walkways were within its strategy to implement societal projects to improve the public health and to achieve the objectives of the Vision 2030, which aims to increase the number of the people who practice sports in their leisure time. All the trails have been supplied with necessary services and facilities including children›s games, sitting areas for families and fitness equipment. The last of the walking paths to be completed was the Yamamah trail in Al-Salamah district, which is of 1,800 meters long and 25 meters wide and covers a total area of 45,000 square meters.
