FOR the 8th year in a row, pioneering Swiss watchmaker Rado has received a prestigious GOOD DESIGN Award from The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. This year's prize was awarded for the HyperChrome Ultra Light, a new product in the 2018 collection that was created with lightness in mind. It was made using Rado's innovative ultra-light high-tech ceramic (Si3N4), which is half the weight of standard Rado high-tech ceramic but even harder and more scratch-resistant. It is a truly exceptional material. The super modern materials and Rado's signature monobloc case construction contrast strongly but impressively with the dial design. Taking its inspiration from 20th Century pocket watches, the understated simplicity and unparalleled legibility of the sunray high-tech ceramic dial gives the watch a classic appearance. Drawing inspiration from the past but with one eye firmly on the future, the HyperChrome Ultra Light is sure to appeal for as many years as it is guaranteed to look good. The HyperChrome Ultra Light was recognized in this year's awards in the ‘Personal' category. The jury looks for "quality design, function and aesthetics at a standard beyond ordinary consumer products." Rado is proud to have been recognized for its dedication to fulfilling this criteria in its continued mission to produce watches designed to stand the test of time.
