We'll continue our fight against terrorism and its sponsoring countries: Al-Jubeir
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 07 - 02 - 2019

WASHINGTON Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Cabinet's Member Adel Al-Jubeir affirmed the Kingdom's constant and consistent commitment to the objectives of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS and to achieve cooperation and coordination among all member states to combat terrorism and extremism.
Al-Jubeir, who is heading the Saudi delegation at the Ministerial Meeting of the Member States of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS and the Kingdom's delegation to the Ministerial Meeting of the Small Group on Syria, reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to combat terror in any forms in a speech here.
Addressing the meeting, Al-Jubeir said, "I am pleased to extend my thanks to the Secretary of State of the United States of America for inviting us and holding this meeting, and congratulate you on the victory achieved against Daesh terrorist organization and accomplishing the Coalition's goals."
''The Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS was founded in 2014 comprising of 12 countries. My country was one of the founding countries and one of the first countries that has participated actively in military operations against the organization. Today, we are meeting here and the number of states participating in the Coalition has reached 79," he said.
He affirmed the Kingdom's constant and consistent commitment to the objectives of the Coalition while seeking to achieve cooperation and coordination among all member states to combat terrorism and extremism, saying "My country's government will continue its fight against terrorism and its sponsoring countries, and pledges to support all international and regional efforts to eliminate terrorist organizations and the activities of destabilizing states in the region."
"We believe that our war against terrorism must include combating its funding and rhetoric that justifies violence and terrorism. For this reason, my country has established a center to combat terrorism, extremism and its sources of funding. We also emphasize the importance of continuing this coalition so that we can all ensure an effective and lasting defeat of Daesh terrorist organization, and all terrorist organizations, and not to reappear again in all parts of the world," Al-Jubeir added.
On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Jacek Czaputowicz, Foreign Minister of Sweden Margot Elisabeth Wallstrom, Foreign Minister of France Jean-Yves Le Drian, Foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Josef Maas, Foreign Minister of Netherlands Stef Blok, Foreign Minister of Denmark Anders Samuelsen, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, Foreign Minister of Finland Timo Soini, and Foreign Minister of Iraq Mohammed Al-Hakim.
