It's not atheism. It's just exploitation and intransigence
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 07 - 02 - 2019

We must take a moment to think about the reason for the rebellion of teenagers against society and their families. What makes some of them drift away from Islam or feel like they are atheists? We must study the reasons for this. Is it really atheism? Or is it intransigence, and their exploitation by the enemies of the country?
We must take a closer look at the minds and thoughts of those teenagers, instead of attacking them as enemies. We must try to decide if the ideas those teenagers have are the result of a family or a social matter.
Our religion teaches us how to apply the concepts of humanity and justice, provides us with faith and guides us to do the right thing. That is why the Center for National Dialogue should be a mediator in such situations, in order to help those who are in need to reevaluate their lives and end their intransigence. This will protect them from those who are trying to take advantage of them.
Here are a few reasons for the behavior of such teenagers:
1. Strictness and lack of empathy of some parents, teachers and students.
2. Not having enough experience in life.
3. The exposure to the internet and media.
4. Disconnection between parents and their children.
5. Feeling marginalized in society.
6. Bad companions with the wrong ideas about religion, homeland and obeying guardians.
7. Injustice faced by divorced women.
8. Falling into the hands of conservatives or enemies of the homeland.
9. Those who tarnish the image of our homeland in the name of freedom.
10. Exaggerating the issue of personal rights.
11. Lack of psychological stability in the family.
12. Feeling spiritually empty.
Nowadays, everything is accessible and as a result you will find people who will take advantage of the situation. Some of them plan to harm our homeland and its leaders. The matter of the rebellion of teenagers must be reevaluated and carefully studied. Today is not like yesterday. Tomorrow will not be like today. A little neglect may breed great mischief.
