MCH, AOT, APF, Dopco in semis

JEDDAH – My Care & Hala topped the points table to set up a last four clash against APF, while AOT Al-Farooq will play Dopco Stars in the Hyundai Premier semifinals this Friday at the WPCA Eskan Complex here.
The tournament, being played on One-Day International format, is being sponsored by Hyundai and managed by the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA).
Earlier, Crown Steel, opting to bat first against Zultec, plundered 344 thanks to Hammad Saeed who smashed 100 off 53 balls (3 sixes and 15 fours).
Afzal Saleem blasted 123 runs in 78 balls (13 fours), while Abid Naseem added 30 and Tasleem 20. Wajahat Shah took 3-64, Balia 2-16, Khalid Iqbal 2-69, while a wicket each went to Umar and Akram.
For Zultec, Afaque batted with grit and hit 81 off 49 balls (12 fours). He added 100 runs for the third wicket with Javed Iqbal (28). But once they were gone, Zultec slumped to 177-7. Later Akram added 70 and Anis Malik 37 to take the tally to 269 thereby losing the encounter by 75 runs. Hammad Saeed scalped 3-60, Abid Naseem 2-21, Fahad 2-41 while Aijaz had one.
In another encounter Dopco Stars beat APF (Asian Advance Plastic Factory) by four wickets. APF put on 214 with Khurram Karamat making 61, Irfan 50 and skipper Nadeem Amin 24. Shoaib Ali was the pick of the bowlers as he grabbed 4-38, while Adnan, Khurram, Mehboob Babi and Shahbaz Rashid took one each.
Dopco Stars took 27.4 overs to get to the target of 217 for the loss of six wickets. Shoaib Ali shone with the bat as well and hit 69 off 46 balls, while Hasanat hit 44 and Maqsood 34. Waqas Ausaf claimed 2-49 and Irfan 2-50.
Hala Gems beat IDBG by nine wickets. Batting first, IDBG crumbled for 106. Mohammed Amjad, the wrecker-in-chief bowled devastatingly to take 6-50, including a hat trick in his sixth over. Zahid Anwer and Moazzam Shoukat shared the remaining wickets with the figures of 2-43 and 2-1, respectively. Khurram scored 28. Hala Gems was home off just 47 balls with nine wickets in hand. The prolific Moazzam Shoukat remained unbeaten on 78.
