Published in The Saudi Gazette on 06 - 03 - 2013

Airbus Middle East and The Little Engineer (TLE) officials at the forging of alliance.Airbus Middle East and The Little Engineer (TLE), a foundation dedicated to instilling an appreciation for science and technology, have entered into a regional partnership last month. On the occasion of the strategic alliance, Airbus collaborated with BOLDTalks FZE to host Rana El Chemaitelly, founder of TLE, at the fourth annual BOLDTalks speaker series.
El Chemaitelly, representing TLE, presented her thoughts on the status of the innovation culture in the Middle East and discuss the emigration of regional talent to other parts of the world, before suggesting solutions to this growing phenomenon.
Airbus believes that talent is a key contributor to the future of aviation. As a leading aircraft manufacturer, Airbus has pioneered the vision of sustainable aviation in 2050 through the Future by Airbus (FbA). Airbus' regional partnership with The Little Engineer is a direct reflection of its efforts to invest in the regional community and instill a passion for science and technology at an early age, in order to widen potential innovation and creativity in a sustainable industry.
In the same way, The Little Engineer is dedicated to educating young minds and increasing public understanding and appreciation of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics through interactive tailored programs.
Since its inception as a personal initiative, TLE has positioned itself as a scientific foundation enlightening and empowering youth in the areas of science and technologies with focus on Robotics, Renewable Energy and Environmental related sciences delivered in an easy yet very effective method with a concept of bridging the gap between theory and practice & schools and universities.
As a winner of MIT, Cartier Women Initiative & other international prizes, awards and recognitions, The Little Engineer is an initiative introduced to provide its students with a hands-on experience in selected scientific topics. The Little Engineer is therefore, positioned as a serious scientific foundation geared towards becoming a recognized pre-engineering school in the areas of Robotics & Renewable Energy Sciences.
TLE focuses on educating young minds and trying to raise public awareness and appreciation of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics through interactive tailored programs which resulted in creating The Little Engineer Curriculum.
The Little Engineer's educational approach through Edutainment and Hand-on-Experience helps its students to a) unleash their scientific skills potential and b) meet the challenges of the future society – a future where innovation, originality, and the ability to work with others will be a key competitive feature. — SG
