Published in The Saudi Gazette on 05 - 03 - 2013

ABU DHABI – The three-day Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2013 will open its doors today (March 5) at Al Bateen Executive Airport, showcasing the latest products and services in the general aviation industry on over 80,000 square meters of exhibition space.
Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2013 will provide double the exhibition area compared to its first show in 2012, where more than 160 aerospace-related organizations, from across the UAE and from more than 70 countries, including: Canada, United States of America, Germany, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Jordan, will be participating, representing a twofold increase compared to the number of nationalities that participated last year.
More than 100 aircraft will be on display from industry leading aviation manufacturers, including: Bombardier, Dassault Aviation, Boeing, Gulfstream, Cessna, Piper Aircraft, Cirrus Aircraft, and, Air Bus, at this year's Expo.
Both fixed and rotary-wing aircraft will be on the runway at Al Bateen for aerospace enthusiasts to explore. Abu Dhabi Air Expo is also likely the only exhibition in the world this year that will exhibit aircraft both less than 100 kg (LSA or GYRO) up to 150 tons (Airbus A310-300) at the same event.
Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2013 is under the patronage of Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
Yousif Hassan Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Abu Dhabi Air Expo, General Manager of Al Bateen Executive Airport, said:
“ADAC is excited about the potential of the second Abu Dhabi Air Expo. The scale of this year's event compared to last year's clearly demonstrates that Abu Dhabi is the place to be when it comes to showcasing the latest and greatest in general aviation technology. ADAC looks forward to helping aviation leaders from around the world grow their businesses through providing this platform to engage in dialogue with potential partners. ADAC is also eager to provide aviation enthusiasts from the region with a rare opportunity to enjoy the best products that the industry has to offer.
Residents and visitors of Abu Dhabi will also be entertained by the various airshow displays planned to take place daily between 14:00-16:00.”
The air displays will include the famous Al Fursan Aerobatic team, the UAE parachute team and a thrilling performance by the acclaimed Guinness Record Captain Zoltan Veres. – SG
