Next introduces SS2013 collections
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 03 - 03 - 2013

RIYADH – Next, a UK retail chain, has unveiled its Spring Summer 2013 collection for boys and girls.
For boys, it's all about pulling in the anchor and setting sail with a nautical inspired trend with traditional influences. Rusty hues in linen and sun faded denim are teamed with smart polos. T-shirts are washed with reversed printed stripes, hints of paisley and patchwork trims.
Sporting polo shirts are worn with smart chinos, blurring the boundary between smart and casual. Badging, numbers and rugby patching are key, alongside stripes, gingham and chambray shirts. A mixture of bold colors and softer pastel tones gives a modern feel to this varsity look.
Boys will go wild for our modern take on cowboys and Indians. Khaki and camouflage make trousers great for exploring, while light T-shirts have strong tribal prints. Denim is authentic, loved and worn and color is daring with pops of vibrant purple, teal and mustard yellow.
For girls of all ages, the new collection is a mixed of delicate blooms, graphic prints and structured lines.
Texture is also key with lace, brocade and applique.
Feminine softness in the form of delicate florals and tailoring in soft hues of cream, powder peach and mushroom with highlights of exotic pink provide a subtle hint that summer is on the way.
Cute and traditional boucle suits and jackets are mixed with graphic Aztec prints and peg leg trousers in metallic, black, gold and cream. Contrast collars and intricate cut out detail add charm and softness.
The big trends on the SS13 catwalk are reflected in chic monochromes, electric blue and the softest of greys all in a no nonsense simple silhouette. Structured suiting, slick pencil skirts and dresses that will wow time and time again are either on trend striped, polka dot or decorated with a graphic floral print.
Lace trimmed tops and blue denim shirts have all been roughed up slightly and are paired with printed flippy skirts and the skinniest of colored jeans. – SG
