RIYADH — The Ministry of Education has classified reckless behavior among students into five categories depending on their severity. Students with most alarming behavior, such as denigration of religious symbols, drug abuse, sexual perversion, possession of weapons and violence against teachers, are grouped into the fifth group. The fourth category includes those who threaten teachers, damage public property, utter obscenities, steal, handle hazardous materials, distribute banned leaflets and attack fellow students. Students who are negligent in prayers, deliberately damage school equipment, engage in sexual harassment and smoke or use cell phones inside school are in category three. The second category includes those who cheat at examinations, skip classes, create chaos, do not take care of their books, write on the walls, quarrel with classmates, use improper language and falsify signatures of guardians or school employees. The first group includes students who commit minor violations, such as non-compliance with school uniform, sleeping, eating, drinking or talking in class, and not completing homework. — SG
