GROHE, Sharbatly Foundation extend partnership on water
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 12 - 02 - 2013

The installation of Euroeco Cosmopolitan S self-closing pillar taps will aid in reducing water consumption while providing worshippers with easy to use facilities while performing ablution.

GROHE, the world's leading premium brand for sanitary fittings, extended its partnership with Sharbatly Foundation (HAS FOUND) as part of the regional implementation of its global water sustainability initiative GROHE WaterCare in Jeddah. After the success of the first implementation at the Sharbatly Mosque in Jeddah in 2012, the extension of the collaboration will see 19 mosques fitted with GROHE's sustainable water solutions across the Kingdom.
Saudi Arabia holds some of the highest per capita water consumption rates in the world and is the world's largest producer of desalinated water making up 17 percent of the total world output and at 250 liters, the Kingdom's water per capita consumption is 91 percent higher than the international average. GROHE's fittings will enable the mosques to make considerable water savings to the benefit of the mosques and the environment, whilst raising awareness about the importance of water conservation.
GROHE are the exclusive suppliers for all the Sharbatly Mosques in Saudi Arabia using the Euroeco Cosmopolitan S Self-Closing pillar taps on all new construction and renovation of the Sharbatly Mosques.
Renovation will start on 4 mosques for this year out of a total of 19 across the region.
Sayed Ibrahim Hassan Sharbatly, Vice President of the Board of Trustees at Hassan Abbas Sharbatly foundation for Community Service, said: “Working with GROHE on the Sharbatly Mosque in Jeddah proved highly successful, and consequently we have decided to further our relationship and install GROHE's solutions in all our mosques throughout the country as a way to raise awareness and reduce excess water consumption.”
“As faithful people, we are obliged to care for Allah's blessing of providing us with water, and not take advantage of it. For that, we are glad to be part of GROHE's water-saving campaign and thank them for their continuous support.”
Tarik Ghazale, GROHE, Project Channel Manager, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, said: “We are delighted to have extended our partnership with the Sharbatly Foundation. Together we hope to raise awareness of water conservation in the region while implementing practical solutions as part of GROHE's global water conservation initiative ‘WaterCare'. Through our collaboration, we hope to play our part in reducing the water footprint of the Kingdom.”
“The installation of our advanced faucets, the Euroeco Cosmopolitan S self-closing pillar taps will aid in reducing water consumption while providing worshippers with easy to use facilities while performing ablution. We would like to extend our utmost gratitude to Sharbatly Foundation and look forward to a long and positive partnership” he added.
GROHE supports local communities wherever possible, and as part of the GROHE WaterCare campaign – the more you save, the more you enjoy – GROHE is aiming to increase awareness of water consumption and conservation possibilities across the region. — SG
