Ericksson headed to Al-Nasr

ABU DHABI — Former England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson is the new technical director of the United Arab Emirates club Al-Nasr, after rejecting an offer to join the staff of German second-division club 1860 Munich. Al-Nasr spokesman Mohammed Mubarak told the Associated Press Sunday that Eriksson had accepted the post, though he had no details about the contract. Eriksson's long career includes a five-year stint as England manager. The 64-year-old Swede has managed, among others, Fiorentina, Roma, Lazio, Benfica, Manchester City, Mexico and Ivory Coast. Al-Nasr is fifth in the domestic league. — AP
