Investment in Saudi IT market to reach $12.3 billion by 2015
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 29 - 12 - 2012

JEDDAH – The Saudi IT market is expected to invest $7.92 billion by the end of the current year and $12.3 billion by 2015 due to trends such as virtualization and global ERP systems, Reichle & De-Massari, (R&M), the Swiss cabling solutions specialist, said Friday.
As a result of such growing demand for high speed uninterrupted bandwidth and reliable data storage, the need for scalable data center infrastructure and solutions becomes heightened, it said.
At the enterprise level, 85 percent of Saudi companies are expected to adopt cloud technologies during 2012, it noted.
R&M further said the Saudi ICT market is leading the Middle East with the penetration of new services and applications in data communications, fueled by the increasing numbers of users who are engaged in video over Internet, social networks, online storage, file sharing and online gaming.
Jean-Pierre Labry, Executive Vice President, R&M Middle East and Africa, said “Saudi IT decision-makers have become increasingly aware of the need for robust data center environments to guarantee reliable and secure data communication and storage as the Saudi market continues to adopt services such as cloud computing at a rapid pace. R&M simplifies the choice for IT decision-makers by offering a wide range of solutions to build high performing scalable data centers.”
Against this background, R&M is set to introduce its latest groundbreaking data center solutions featuring the multiple-fiber push on connector as well as its multi-fiber termination push-on system and raised floor box to the Saudi market.
R&M's solution set is ideal for establishing a strong foundation for a reliable and robust data center.
With R&M's customized solutions, IT decision-makers can choose an optimized solution tailored to fit their specific data center needs regardless of industry vertical or the complexity of their current network infrastructure. Scalability is also assured thanks to forward looking design aspects, which allow for easy migration to bandwidth speeds up to 100 gigabytes.
Manzoor Ali, Managing Director, R&M Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, added “data centers must keep high standards to provide its offered services without any break down. In order to provide continued break free-service to the IT and communication network, the components used to build up a data center should be of high quality – either active or passive equipment.
Installing a high end zero-defect cabling solution such as R&M's, definitely results in better network performance and faultless reliability. R&M in the market is known for providing modular and customized solutions, which reduces the planning process for creating a robust data center enabling network planners to keep up with growing traffic and demands on the network.”
A combination between copper and fiber, R&M offers the MPO/MTP system, allowing for a complete end-to-end cabling solution as well as easy migration to 100 Gigabytes. The high-quality components for copper cabling enable ultra-short permanent links. In addition, data center operators benefit from the advantages of pre-terminated and cut-to-length copper and fiber optic cables. These forward looking design aspects simplify handling, so installation times are significantly reduced.
R&M's raised floor box, cable termination and patching functions are shifted into the raised floor, achieving way free space and an organized structure for cables to enable better speed and performance. — SG/QJM
