ABHA — Seven Saudi scholarship students were among those stranded in the library of California State University, Fullerton, for more than seven hours Wednesday afternoon after police looking for suspects in an armed robbery in a nearby jewelry store surrounded the building. The lockdown was prompted by two of the suspects fleeing onto the campus after a spate of high-speed pursuits. Three men were taken into custody earlier Wednesday. Students and faculty were allowed to leave before midnight Wednesday after officers brought the situation under control. Muhammad Al-Isa, the Saudi Cultural Attaché in the US, told Al-Watan that the Saudi students are fine and none of them has been harmed. — SG
