RIYADH — AWAL, the leading IT services provider, has provided technical support for the First International Conference on Assessment & Evaluation which was held on Dec. 2-4 under the patronage of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, at the King Faisal Conference Hall, Intercontinental Hotel here. Through its support of the 3-day event, AWAL aimed to develop its services, stay abreast of current events and leading technologies, as well as support the educational sector by showing strong interest in measurement and evaluation fields, given the importance of quality control and measurement in achieving high efficiency in the educational system, monitoring performance and linking it to global indicators. The First International Conference on Assessment & Evaluation highlighted one of the most important topics of measurement and evaluation, the “Higher Education Admission Requirements”, which consisted of 5 main themes: Admission tests: Theoretical and practical foundations for selecting suitable assessment forms to build admission tests, Scoring and Analyzing Tests, Test Administration, International Practices in Admission Criteria, and Admission Tests and the Society. Fifty three papers on University Admission Tests were also discussed during the conference. The forum also aimed to enrich the scientific side of the admission tests and its criteria. It further strived to highlight the scientific and practical aspects to the field specialists and the society in general, through reviewing top international experiences, in addition to developing studies to showcase local experiences.
