JEDDAH — WPCA Afternoon Tournament, which is sponsored by Hyundai, saw some remarkable performances with Salman taking a hat trick, Aftab Malik claiming 5 wickets and Rehan scoring a magnificent 81.
NATCOM, batting first, was bowled out for 113. Waqas top scored with 23 as none other could get to double figures. Abdul Rafey grabbed 4-30, Aleem 2-26 and Ramazan 2-26. Hala Academy Blue, in reply, was bundled out for 91 to lose by 22 runs. Abdul Aleem scored 30, while Jawwad took 3-26, Zahid 2-23, Zahoor 2-13.
In another match, Pak Kashmir, batting first, scored 213-7 against Crown Blue. Pak Kashmir lost wickets at regular intervals to be 7 down within no time, but Sher Badar, played an unbeaten innings of 53 not out off 20 balls (6 sixes and a four) as his partner Imran hammered an unbeaten 44. Saqib Butt took 3-25 and Irfan 2-33. Crown Blue was restricted to 164-9 to lose by 49 runs. Nadeem hit 26 and Ijaz 25. Shabbir Khan took 2-24 and Amir 2-24.
In another match, Zultrack, using the track first, was all out for 145.
Rashid made 51 and Imran 20. Abdullah took 2-8, while Ali and Abid claimed 2-23 each and Adil 2-26. G.G.I., in reply, was home with 150-2 off just 84 balls to win by 8 wickets. Pervaiz continued his fine form to hammer an unbeaten 60 off 35 balls as Haroon hit 45 and both put on 95 runs for the first wicket.
Hala International School put on 173-7 off 102 balls, chasing 197 against Desert Lions, as skipper Mohsin Mirza Baig hammered 59 runs off 26 balls, Anas 30 and Nauman 20. Rizwan took 3- 40.
AMI Juffali scored 146-7 with Imran making 40, Shuboor 38 and Mustafa 20.
Rafiq took 3-25 and Waqas 2-40. AOT Youngsters, in reply, was restricted to 134-9 to lose by 12 runs as Malik Hasnain scored 46. Zafar took 3-16, Mohammed 2-38.
Another match saw Al-Safree take the strike first and score 186-8. Rehan blasted 81 runs off 45 balls (9 fours and 3 sixes) and Aftab Malik made 38 as they put on 93 runs off 51 balls for the fourth wicket. Salman registered his hat trick for his figures of 4-16 and Osama 2-19.My Care Hala Green, in reply, was bowled out for 101 to lose the encounter by 85 runs. Aftab Malik grabbed 5-27 with only Osama making 23. Manjeet Kumar took 2-26.
