Vodafone Egypt cuts roaming rates for Saudi Arabia, UAE
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 09 - 08 - 2008

Vodafone Egypt announced on Friday new roaming agreements with Saudi Telecom Company (STC) in Saudi Arabia and du in the UAE.
The new agreements provide Vodafone Egypt's customers with the lowest roaming prices and a world class roaming service while roaming in Saudi Arabia and UAE. The attraction for Vodafone in forming these agreements in the region was the strength and positive image of the three regional operators within the Arab market.
The agreements have enabled Vodafone to create a new Arab Region Zone in their World Plus Plan which offers discounted rates of more than 50 percent when roaming on STC or du, versus roaming on other operators' networks. Furthermore, the three operators guarantee optimum standards in terms of network coverage and performance.
The new Arab Region Zone is a natural extension of the continuous enhancements that Vodafone has been making to its Vodafone World Plus Plan to ensure that it offers customers simple and transparent roaming rates.
Vodafone has always offered preferential rates while roaming on the Vodafone networks across Europe; now, with their new Arab Region Zone, Vodafone customers will enjoy preferential roaming rates in the Arab Region as well.
Vodafone Egypt was keen to create the new Arab Region Zone in August so Vodafone roamers can benefit from the new competitive prices enabling customers to stay connected with their families and friends during their spiritual trips.
The same goes for Vodafone customers who travel to the UAE and Saudi Arabia throughout the year for different purposes such as tourism, shopping or business trips. "These agreements support our strategy to be the first choice for international travelers," said Richard Daly, chief executive officer of Vodafone Egypt.
Amr Abdallah, chief business officer of Vodafone Egypt added that: "Vodafone is entering into more agreements for preferential roaming rates with other Arab operators over the coming months, resulting in more benefits for roaming customers in the region." __
