JEDDAH – Royal Strikers snapped the winning streak of Pin Slasher when all Lions orchestrated an all-out retaliation in the last game. Shawly Bowlers rediscovered themselves like on the opening day re-hitting the Team the week accolade by blanking Fire Fox while Ekis-3 seized league leadership when it routed X-Alley in the 9th session of the Friday Morning Bowling League 12th conference at the Bowling City here.
Pin Slasher swept the first two sets at 1,223-1,167 and 1,208-1,148 with Jay Bengco helming 235 and 227. Team head Roger Daquioag, Dariel Loquias, Carling Constantino, May Lourdes and Aileen Miralbuna shared a total of 1,969. Notably counter bowling were TC Jun Estefano (239, 212), Jun Pingan (205, 243) and Alona Antinero (221, 190) keeping Lions' hope at a wide margin of 2,431-2,315 into the third game.
In this chapter the Lions bit and clawed the Bulls till tails were flopped down that overturned favor.
With Estefano greatly leading with 250, teammates Joey Calapatia, Ed Sardi?a, Albert Abug, Antinero and Pingan planked solidly to be consequential victors at 12-8 (3,544-3,500) including survival endgame of 1,229-1,069 with only Bengco sustaining production for Bulls at 243. Such continued cover for his team consoled Bulls as Bengco won the Bowler of the Week honor for totalling 705, foiling Estefano with 701. Antinero added glory for Lions when she leveled Ester Santoc on Lady Bowler of the Week honors on 623 total. Antinero played games of 221, 190 and 24 while Ester compiled 215, 195 and 213.
Shawly Bowlers, who were hobbled by setbacks, once again turned out supreme on their one-sided duel against the Fire Fox that made them Team of the Week on superlative aggregate of 3,661.
Acting team captain Nestor Sa?osa filled the shoes of vacationing TC Arnel Bautista with leadership total of 686 while highest opposition came from Archie Alcantara at 617 from the loser's side. The Dragon was in a real rampage that even Joel Quiboy and Max Salang surpassed expectations at 627, 604. This brilliant guidance of Sa?osa, whose games were posted at 229, 262 and 195, also inspired Andy David, Mariz Resano and spouse Sally to back up profusely with 566, 583 and 595 respectively. Rey Feliciano, Vic Bantay, Robert Gamboa, Rod Mrales and Fuly Primo tried to shield Fire Fox with their 577, 576, 566, 566 and 550 resulting in vain when they could only defend with 3,452.
Other matches showed that Fed Extreme wallop D' Mountaineers (18-2), Petroin edge Micah's Pride (11-9), Lance & 3rdy beat Pin Rockers (12-8) and BCT Mongoose take 20 points on game unopposed.
