STC roaming Internet only SR299 during Eid
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 15 - 08 - 2012

RIYADH – STC has introduced a new deal that will run throughout the Eid-Al-Fitr holiday. The deal includes extending the roaming internet and blackberry G1 packages from one week to two weeks, for the same reduced price at SR299. The roaming packages are usable in more than 40 countries.
The deal is available for 11 days (Aug. 18-28).
The deal enhances the experience of customers traveling to Europe and other countries. Several roaming Internet and blackberry packages are available and can be renewed during travel. Customers may request an operators list by sending the code 6300 to 902, and will receive a reply including details about available packages, in categories (postpaid-prepaid), and including prices and subscription code for each package.
Customers have a choice to choose from several weekly packages that can be renewed during travel. The “Extra Roaming Data” one week package for postpaid customers (2 weeks with the Eid deal) includes 1GB of data for SR299 and can be used in more than 40 countries including European countries, America, Canada, and China. Whereas the “Unlimited Roaming Data” package offers postpaid customers unlimited roaming data for 1 week at SR99 in gulf countries, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, and Malaysia. Prepaid customers can benefit from the “Prepaid Roaming Data” package, which is a one week package including 100MB, priced at SR70, and is available in the same group of countries as in “Extra Roaming Data” package.
To benefit from the service, customers must first activate the service, and then restart their Internet connection. Postpaid customers can subscribe to more than 1 package at the same time, whereas prepaid customers can subscribe more than once even before the package expires, in addition to being able to renew the package during travel and using the package on several SIM cards and prepaid Data SIM (Quick Net). Customers are also required to make sure that the package desired works in the country to be visited. Customers need to manually select the operator to avoid incurring further fees. This and more information is available on www.stc.com.sa
STC customers enjoy a variety of features while roaming outside the kingdom, as the company is considered to be the only operator whose customers are able to call customer service (902) for free while roaming, in addition to many other offers, activities and contests similar to the one on STC's page on Facebook, in which whoever shares the most interesting travel story that generates the highest number of “likes” would win a tourism trip of his/her choice valued at SR50,000, in addition 5 smart phones and 5 SAWA SIM cards, and many other activities that will take place during Eid in Dubai's International Airport, as it is considered the point of arrival and departure for a large number of STC's customers. – SG
