COLOMBO — Daily power cuts of more than two hours are being imposed across Sri Lanka because of a drought and problems at a coal-fired generating plant. Ceylon Electricity Board Vice Chairman Anura Wijayapala said officials will decide Wednesday whether to lengthen the outages, which began last week. Wijayapala said it will take two weeks to fix the problems at the generating plant, which were triggered by a transmission line failure. Poor monsoon in reservoir areas has also hurt generating capacity. — AP
