Lance & 3rdy and Garcia corner back-to-back honors
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 13 - 07 - 2012

Eva GarciaPip R. PlanasJEDDAH – Once again leaning on triangular pillars joined by three solid beams, Lance & 3rdy clinched its second Team of the Week honor in two successive weeks at the expense of Fire Fox, though the latter's team manager Eva Garcia parried well to share limelight by snapping the women's Bowler of the Week accolade in a back-to-back fashion at the end of the third week of the Filipino Expatriate Damayan Bowling Group Friday Morning Bowling League 12th conference at Bowling City here.
Lance & 3rdy swept the match to post perfect 32 points and continuously wave the banner at the top of the 13-team tournament with computed points of 92 stooping on nearest pursuers Ekis-3 (70), Shawly Bowlers (70), Micah's Pride (65) and Fed Extreme (60).
Rene Punzalan starred their teams with Bowler of the Week honor-winning total of 693 founded on games of 227, 220, 246. Team chief and last week's honoree Ric Reformado molded the second post 636 with 231 hi-game and unpredictable Ver Jasa casted the third column with 610. Stiffening the Lance & 3rdy's fortress were Elo Manalo, Shirley Sagmit and team manager Evelyn Santoc who combined 1656 linkage.
But though shutout on sets of 1,180-1,127, 1,184-1,172 and 1,231-1,204 on final aggregate of 3,595-3,503, Fire Fox shared celebration with Lance & 3rdy as Eva Garcia garnered her second Bowler of the Week title on her defensive stance of 673. Helped by Rey Feliciano who totaled 616 with 228 hi-game, Garcia nerved rivals with explosive games of 241, 203 and 229.
Fire Fox most possible salvaging match was game two wherein TC Obie Ycasas scored 214 with ample cushion from Vic Bantay and Archie Alcantara but with Serge Rivera got hobbled with errors their chance slipped out on a 12-pin gap.
Still agonized by its defeat last week Micah's Pride massively bounced back by blanking X-Alley with Ruel Santoc boosting teammates with 615 with couple of 229. Micah's outing was a real vengeance as Melvin Lisng, Oca Bernabe, Jack Jarin Ronnie de Castro and team manager Ester Santoc rallied equally behind Ruel to eclipse X-Alley on final settlement of 20-0 (3,433-3,378). Andy Yumena defended X-alley best with 619 with hi-game of 221.
On other matches 16-4 card was posted by D'Mountaineers, Shawly Bowlers and Ekis-3 against Petomin Express, Pin Rockers and Fed Extreme respectively while defending champion Pin Slasher downed Ball Care at 12-6 and unopposed Royal Strikers gained 4 points.
