TAIF – An Indonesian woman who came to the Kingdom to work as a housemaid and subsequently married a Saudi has inherited SR20 million from her businessman husband, who died eight years ago. The Taif-based businessman had left behind assets worth SR300 million, which included properties in prime locations in the resort city. The Indonesian woman had come to Taif to work in the businessman's household, but her employer decided to marry her after some time. However, the marriage did not last long. The businessman died a few months later, but the woman insisted on staying in the Kingdom until she received her share of inheritance. After eight years of litigation, Abdulrahman Al-Dakheel, the judge who heard the inheritance case at the Taif court, ruled last week that the woman's share should be paid after her husband's properties were sold in a public auction. The auction procedures have already started and some of the properties have been disposed. The woman's share is estimated at SR20 million.
