Nawaf Afat Okaz/Saudi Gazette RIYADH — Dr. Rafat Al-Hakeem, director of the department for sexually transmitted diseases in the Ministry of Health, said 1195 news HIV cases were detected in 2011. Of these, 459 were Saudis and the remaining 736 were non-Saudis. New cases detected among Saudis have increased by 4.5 percent in 2011 compared with 2010. The Ministry of Health provides free medical treatment to all HIV cases.
