Saudi Gazette The United Filipino Workers of the King Fahd Armed Forces Hospital (UFWORK) successfully commenced its 10th Inter-color Basketball Tournament at Ahmed Kaki Sports Complex last weekend. Thirteen teams from different departments of the King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital (KFAFH) AATC ––– Admin Department, BIOMED, CSSD Warriors, Dietary Lakers, Engineering, Engineering Falcons, Human Resource Department (HRD) Tigers, Housekeeping A, Housekeeping B, Nursing Department, Porter BT and Warehouse Bodegeros ––– joined the colorful parade that started in the afternoon followed by a simple program led by this year's Filipino worker's tournament. The program was chaired by Julius Blanquera in cooperation with the organizing committee of UFWORK and headed by Shailanie Marohombsar in collaboration with the Western Province Basketball League (WPBL). Asst. Labor Attache Alejandro V. Inza Cruz graced the event and delivered inspiring messages to the participating teams wishing that the teams compete with the true spirit of sportsmanship. HRD Tigers bagged the “Best Uniform Title” owing to its black and gold combination uniform while Cherry Chua of Academic Affairs and Training Center Team was awarded the “Best Muse.” The Engineering A won against HRD Tigers in the opening game; Housekeeping A took over the second game against the Engineering B; Petromin took away the game from Friendi Mobile in the third game; Nunungan Lanao Lakers won the last game against Shadow lounge. Officials from the WPBL also called on the participating teams and audience to donate for the electrocuted OFW, Alfredo Salmos. The group collected a total amount of SR 623 and handed it over to him Tuesday. The organizing committee thanked their major sponsors Indomie and Jollibee, along with Jeddah Dental Supply of Gulf Medical Co., Johnson & Johnson, Al Jeel Medical & Trading Co.
