Give your hijab a ‘makeover'

Hijab is the ultimate beauty of a Muslim woman, adding to her grace and protecting her modesty. To further enhance the Muslim women's beauty, Karima Saleh with her sister-in-law has recently inaugurated their home-based business “Foulard - Wear the way you want it” — a unique business which customizes and sells hijab.
Whether you need a formal scarf for a business meeting, a stylized one for a day out with friends or a special scarf for an event, you can now customize your scarf to suit your style at Foulard.
It offers high quality scarves at affordable prices for women of all ages.
Almost 85 percent of their designs are handmade by local designers. “We intend to encourage all women to wear Hijab, which does not necessarily have to be black,” said Saleh.
“When we realized the need for customized styles of Hijab and the ridiculously overpriced scarves that the market currently offers, we decided to design and fabricate scarves that could be worn by all women of our society. Hijab can be modern, fashionably tailored, and affordable; all at once,” she added.
The duo initially started marketing their scarves through their page on Facebook and after receiving an overwhelming response from customers online, they expanded their business to include headbands too.
Foulard also specializes in handling customized requests from customers for particular events or campaigns. For example, they recently made scarves for an event organized by law students of Dar Al-Hekma College.
“Foulard not only excels in making high quality customized scarves, but also actively participates in improving the society. We strongly support female employment by hiring females,” said Saleh. __
