He finished 4 for 6 and raised his batting average to an NL-best .402. His on-base percentage of .489 leads the majors. Brewers 8, Cubs 2: Shaun Marcum pitched seven strong innings and Edwin Maysonet hit his first career grand slam to lead the Milwaukee Brewers over the Chicago Cubs. It was the second straight win for the Brewers, who beat the Cubs in 13 innings Friday in a 5-hour game that ended just past midnight. Saturday's start remained at noon because it was a nationally televised game. Pirates 5, Astros 2: Andrew McCutchen had a solo home run among his four hits, Jose Tabata also homered and the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Houston Astros. Padres 2, Phillies 1: Edinson Volquez pitched six effective innings, pinch-hitter Jesus Guzman drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly and the San Diego Padres beat the Philadelphia Phillies and ace Roy Halladay for the second time this season. Nationals 2, Reds 1: Jordan Zimmermann extended Washington's streak of dominant starts, and Danny Espinosa homered for the second straight game, leading the Nationals over the Cincinnati Reds. Braves 7, Cardinals 2: Brandon Beachy pitched six innings of one-run ball and helped himself with an RBI single, Michael Bourn added a solo homer and the Atlanta Braves beat the St. Louis Cardinals. Giants 5, Diamondbacks 2: Matt Cain gave up three hits in six innings and singled in a pair of runs to help the San Francisco Giants end a nine-game losing streak against Arizona with a victory over the Diamondbacks. Dodgers 2, Rockies 1: Colorado Rockies took part in a pitchers' duel but came out on the wrong side of the score, losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rockies managed to pick up just four hits in the losing effort.
