STC wins King Abdul Aziz Quality Award
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 18 - 07 - 2008

Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC) is the first time winner of the newly instituted King Abdul Aziz Quality Award, said Abdullah Bin Ahmed Zainal Alireza, Minister of Commerce and Industry, chairman of the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization and head of the Higher Committee of the King Abdul Aziz Quality Award (KAQA).
An initiative of the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization (SASO), the KAQA is presented to the candidate achieving the highest number of points in meeting the criteria set by the organization, namely excellence of administrative management; most effective strategic planning; best recruitment of human resources, implementing best practices in managing vendors, partners and operational business; attention to customer services; effectiveness of information and information analysis systems, the company's influence on society; and the company's business results.
KAQA is an exclusively national award that is decided solely by SASO, the Kingdom's official organization for measurement and assessment of quality standards in commerce and industry.
STC adds KAQA to its range of prestigious awards presented for excellence in the field of quality systems and programs, such as the company's recent program of converting all its administrative systems to electronic processes, utilizing state-of-the-art technology in order to best serve its customers.
In addition, as the Kingdom's leading telecommunications service provider, STC is committed to its role of good corporate citizenship and the company's programs include corporate social responsibility initiatives such as the Wafa'a program which is dedicated to four social aspects: Al-Wafaa Educational Program, Al-Wafaa Healthcare, Al-Wafaa Sports Programs.
Meanwhile, AlJawal has recently added Lana prepaid card customers to its Qitaf loyalty program. They will be registered free-of-charge in the program, which entitles them to receive one Qitaf point for every SR10 of the purchased prepaid card's total value.
The points qualify Qitaf program members for a range of benefits including call minutes and internal and international SMS and MMS. In addition, collected points can be exchanged for free services or instant vouchers at any of STC's Qitaf partners, which represent leading local and international brands across the Kingdom. AlJawal customers can subscribe in Qitaf program by calling customer service center on 902. __
