Tampering with safety equipment led to school fires

The Ministry of Education has said that recent school fires were due to arson or tampering with safety equipment. The ministry has now directed school principals to inform all students about the dangers of misusing the safety equipment.
The ministry sent urgent alerts to school heads on the necessity of stressing to students in the morning assembly on the dangers of tampering with equipment.
The ministry said the penalties for perpetrators will deter them from carrying out such acts. It also emphasized the importance of guardians talking to their children and urging them to avoid acts that lead to tragic consequences. __
