Published in The Saudi Gazette on 05 - 03 - 2012

Brandon Triche scored 18 points, Kris Joseph added 11 in his final home game, and No. 2 Syracuse beat No. 19 Louisville, 58-49, Saturday.
Syracuse (30-1, 17-1) matched the Big East record for victories — Connecticut also had 17 in 1995-96 — and the Orange also finished the regular season with 30 wins for the first time in Coach Jim Boeheim's 36-year tenure. The Orange went 19-0 at the Carrier Dome, only their second unbeaten season there. The other Syracuse team to go undefeated in the dome was the national championship team of 2002-3, led by Carmelo Anthony, which finished 17-0.
Chane Behanan and Russ Smith led Louisville (22-9, 10-8) with 10 points each, and Gorgui Dieng finished with 6 on 3-of-13 shooting.
Kansas 73, Texas 63: Thomas Robinson had 25 points and 14 rebounds, and Tyshawn Taylor added 22 points, as No. 3 Kansas (26-5, 16-2 Big 12) defeated visiting Texas (19-12, 9-9). J'Covan Brown had 33 points for Texas.
N. Carolina 88, Duke 70: Kendall Marshall had 20 points and 10 assists, and North Carolina beat Duke to win the Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season title.
Tyler Zeller had 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Harrison Barnes added 16 points for the Tar Heels (27-4, 14-2).
Mason Plumlee had 17 points, and brother Miles Plumlee added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Blue Devils (26-5, 13-3).
Missouri 81, Texas Tech 59: Kim English scored 20 points, Ricardo Ratliffe had 13 points and a career-high 15 rebounds, and No. 7 Missouri (27-4, 14-3 Big 12) hit a season-best 16 3-pointers to beat host Texas Tech (8-22, 1-17).
Marquette 83, Georgetown 69: No. 8 Marquette was 33 of 45 from the free-throw line and outscored No. 11 Georgetown, 24-8, in points off turnovers, defeating the visiting Hoyas and denying them a double bye in the Big East tournament.
Iowa State 80, Baylor 72: Scott Christopherson had 23 points in his final home game, and Iowa State rallied to beat No. 9 Baylor for its second victory over a top-10 opponent this season.
San Diego State 98, TCU 92: Jamaal Franklin scored a career-high 35 points, including the go-ahead 3-point play in overtime, and No. 21 San Diego State defeated Texas Christian (17-13, 7-7) to claim a share of its second consecutive Mountain West title.
The visiting Aztecs (24-6, 10-4) held on after losing an 18-point lead in the second half.
Temple 80, Fordham 60: Juan Fernandez scored 19 points as No. 23 Temple (24-6, 13-3) beat host Fordham (10-19, 3-13) to win the Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season title outright for the first time since 1989-90.
Murray State 54, Tennessee State 52: Jewuan Long drove the baseline for a layup with 4.4 seconds left, and No. 12 Murray State (30-1) rallied from 7 points behind in the final 5 minutes 28 seconds to win over Tennessee State (20-12) in the tournament championship in Nashville.
