The alleged abuse of a citizen by a judge at the Abu Areesh Governorate Court will be investigated by the Higher Judicial Council, said Sheikh Ali Mangari, President of Jizan regional court. Mangari said he rejected the alleged actions of the Fourth Judicial Office judge who was recently transferred from Samta Governorate Court. Citizen Abdullah Mahdi had lodged a complaint about the way he was treated by the judge. He claimed the judge evicted him from his office when he had inquired about a long overdue legal case. “I visited Abu Areesh Governorate Court four months ago for a rights case. The court employees told me my case was in the Fourth Judicial Office with a recently-transferred judge. At the time he was on vacation. I waited for a long time for a notification or a request to meet the judge and complete my case. “After a long wait, I revisited the court and went to the judge's office. He was sitting alone in his office and I told him I had a case in his office which I had wanted to resolve for a long time. When I extended my arm to shake hands with him, he refused to shake hands and did not say anything. “He then ordered me to leave his office immediately. When I begged him to look into my case, he called a security officer and told him to evict me from his office. The security officer pulled me out of the office as if I'd committed a crime. Then the judge closed his office door leaving me and other citizens waiting outside.” Ali Khamj, another citizen who was also waiting outside the office for his case to be completed by the judge, said everyone was angered by the judge's actions. Several citizens appealed to the officials in charge of the judiciary to ask judges to deal kindly with citizens and not to act in such an arrogant manner. __
