US wildcard Sam Querrey reached his first quarterfinal of the year with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 victory over seventh-seeded Kevin Anderson. Querrey booked a quarterfinal clash with third-seeded Czech Radek Stepanek, a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) winner over American Ryan Sweeting. Poland's Lukasz Kubot reached his first quarter-final since last July in Stuttgart with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 victory over Germany's Philipp Petzschner. He will play compatriot Benjamin Becker, a 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 winner over Belgian Xavier Malisse. Olivier Rochus kept the Belgian flag flying with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over American Ryan Harrison. The women's semifinal lineup was decided, with fourth-seeded Marina Erakovic of New Zealand holding off Michaella Krajicek of the Netherlands 6-4, 6-7 (2-7), 6-4 to advance. Erakovic next faces Russian Vera Dushevina who rallied to beat France's Stephanie Foretz Gacon 3-6, 6-3, 6-1. Sofia Arvidsson reached the final four with a 6-2, 7-6 (9-7) victory over Lesia Tsurenko. Arvidsson next faces Alberta Brianti, who defeated Varvara Lepchenko 7-5, 6-3. Babos eliminates Cirstea In Monterrey, Mexico, Timea Babos fought back to beat third-seeded Sorana Cirstea at the Monterrey Open Thursday. Babos won 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to set up a quarterfinal against Austrian Patricia Mayr-Achleitner, who was a 6-1, 6-3 winner over Czech Eva Birnerova. Babos joins compatriot Greta Arn in the final eight. Arn beat Croatia's Maria Abramovic 6-4, 6-2 and will play Nina Bratchikova in the quarters.
