‘Rainbow show' at PISJ

The young daffodils and the little falcons took the students and their parents to the world of effulgent colors and perpetual bliss, where they expressed their joys of childhood through their superb acts and electrifying performances, garbed in multihued costumes, on Feb. 9 at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto auditorium.
The Principal,Sehar Kamran warmly welcomed the honorable guests Hany Mansour Aref (owner and CEO ASAS), Samar Fatany and Sohail Ali Khan (Press Consul).
The program commenced with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Qur'an by Salwa Mushtaq followed by the national anthems of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Kamran enlightened the audience about the show. She said, “I hope you will be highly inspired by the mesmerizing performances of our little angels. Their innocent, cute and charming actions will touch the hearts and souls.”
“It is not an easy job to train and coach these little kids and make them perform so well. Our teachers deserve loads of appreciation for their incredible handwork and our young artists will look forward towards your encouragement,” she further added. The first part of the event included performances by the nursery and reception students followed by performances of grade 1 and 2 students on “Big Bang Lazy Town.” which delivered the message on celebrating life with zest. The grade 1 performed on “Ghost Busters”; grade 3 on “Barney..Colors all around”; grade 5 “C'est La Vie” and grade 8 on a seasons song.
The second part of the program included the electrifying performance of Hoedown Throwdown based on the theme that childhood is the best period of one's life and little angels believe in their dreams followed by the enthusiastic performance of Y1-7 on the song, “What I am is special” exhibiting that every child is unique and special.
The program also included Wania Jibran's exhilirating performance on the song, “Waving Flag”. The program ended successfully with the support of the dedicated staff members, praise worthy faculty, devoted students and their supportive parents.SCC Under 15 Inter School
T20 Cricket Tournament
PIS Urdu Section beats IISR
in the inaugural match
Riyadh Cricket Association under the patronage of Prince General Dr. Abdul Aziz Bin Nasser Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud started the Inter School Cricket Tournament as part of their mission of promoting cricket in Riyadh Region. The tournament has been divided in two divisions for the age groups of Under-15 and Under-19 respectively.
Teams from Pakistan International School - Urdu Section (PIS- US), International Indian School Riyadh (IISR), New Middle East International School, Daratassalam International Delhi Public School, Pakistan International School - English Section, International Indian Public School Riyadh, Jawaher Al-Riyadh International School, Bangladesh International School Riyadh, Manarat International School shall be competing against each other.
The tournament was inaugurated on Jan. 12 at RCA grounds where the first match in the Under-15 division was played between IISR and PIS- US. President of RCA, Qadeer Mirza emphasized on the development of cricket in Riyadh and thanked the inter school tournament organizing committee of Amjad Iqbal, Zahid Mir and Nayeem Akbar and the executive committee for their efforts. Trophies and Cash prizes for the finals were announced by Khawar Abbas on behalf of Shuraim Cricket Club. The chairman of IISR Nayeem Akbar imparted words of wisdom to the participating teams related to team spirit, etiquettes of playing cricket and reminding the players that their good performances shall make them eligible to represent Saudi Arabia Cricket team in international tournamnets. He also thanked Amjad Iqbal for putting such tremendous effort to make the event happening on time and in style.
PIS-US won the match by 45 runs and Faisal Khan for his rocking 55 runs and 2 wickets was adjudged Man of the Match. Eleven-year-old Irfan of IISR was chosen as the best performer of the match and was given a cash prize of SR150 for his spirited performance during the match.
