Saudi Gazette had an exclusive opportunity to fly with the aviation team on one of its sorties aboard S92 helicopter flying at a very high altitude for two hours from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The team had the iftar meal on the copter. The aviation team sends regular reports and alerts to the operation room. It also helps during medical evacuations and other emergencies. "The final 10 days of Ramadan require higher security measures. We have already increased security measures to ensure that we are at the required capacity by the end of Ramadan," said Saudi Security Aviation General Captain Lt. Gen. Mohammad Al-Harby. "Our helicopters are equipped with the latest cameras, equipment and medical supply. The team has transported a number of patients to hospital," he added. The aviation team runs multiple aerial sorties a day. More than 200 aerial sorties are scheduled for Ramadan with over 140 flying hours.
