Martinezes day in Detroit
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 20 - 05 - 2017

Victor Martinez hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in his final game of the week, and J.D. Martinez supplied a three-run blast as the Detroit Tigers edged the Baltimore Orioles 6-5 Thursday afternoon.
Victor Martinez's long ball in the fifth erased a 4-3 deficit. Manager Brad Ausmus said Victor Martinez would be placed on the paternity list after the game and miss the weekend series against the Texas Rangers. He will return to Orlando, Fla., for the birth of his fourth child.
J.D. Martinez's homer was his third of the three-game series, as the Tigers took two out of three from the Orioles.
Chris Davis, Adam Jones and Seth Smith homered for the Orioles.
Royals 5, Yankees 1
Danny Duffy picked up first victory since April 14, and Mike Moustakas belted a three-run homer as Kansas City defeated New York.

Blue Jays 9, Braves 0
Marcus Stroman smashed the second homer ever by a Toronto pitcher as the Blue Jays bounced back from three straight losses to Atlanta.
Stroman (4-2) worked 5 2/3 innings, striking out six, walking one and giving up seven hits. Stroman homered to right-center field in the third inning and was all smiles circling the bases.

Sonny Gray pitched six strong innings, and Jed Lowrie, Chad Pinder and Khris Davis each homered, lifting Oakland past Boston.
