LuLu Hypermarkets ‘mango passion' opens at all outlets

"MANGO PASSION 2017", a festival of mangoes, is being celebrated in all LuLu Hypermarkets in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from Wednesday to Tuesday (May 16). Indian Deputy Consul General & Consul Haj Mohd. Shahid Alam inaugurated the festival at LuLu Hypermarket, Amir Fawaz, Jeddah on Wednesday.
This edition of the LuLu Mango Passion has wide range of mangoes sourced from across the continents. The annual festival that celebrates the king of fruits will continue at all of LuLu's branches Kingdomwide till May 16.

The collection includes more than 70 varieties of mangoes from 14 countries, such as Alphonso, Badami, Kesar, Rajapuri, Thothapuri, Malgova, Neelam, Tymour, Bombay, Kalbathoor, Hindi Mango, Green Mango, Keitt Mango, Kent Mango etc.
The varieties have been sourced from Saudi Arabia, India, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Yemen, Ivory Coast, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Malaysia, Thailand, Ethiopia, South Africa and Indonesia — the countries that have marked a rise in the cultivation of mangoes.
LuLu's management stated: "This Mango Passion is a much-awaited event in our calendar and we are sure that it will be a novel and exciting experience for the people in Jeddah. As Lulu is committed to make the most quality products available to the customers, we expect an overwhelming response"
"We have been working well in advance on the sourcing of the exotic varieties of mangoes to ensure that our customers get it at the best price", a Lulu official said.
Hasees, regional manager, and Rills Musthafa, general manager, were at the helm of affairs to set the festival rolling.
Eissa Al Rashid Al Tamim opens LuLu mango passion in Hail
LuLu Hypermarket's annual mango festival r got under way at its outlet in Saudi Arabia. The seventh edition of the one week festival was inaugurated by Eissa Al Rashid Al Tamimi, member of Municipality in Hail on Wednesday.
The festival features more than 70 varieties of mangoes ranging from Alphonso and Rajapuri to Malgova, in different shapes and sizes. Most varieties at the festival come from India, one of the largest producers and exporters of the fruit.
Alphonso and Kesar, which are known for their uniqueness, are popular across the world. Badami, Dusari, Totapuri and several other varieties are available at the festival. Imported organic mangoes are also available at all LuLu outlets.
The mangoes on display comprise traditional favourites, as well as home-grown varieties from Saudi Arabia. An exclusive range of processed mango products made from Saudi produce is also available.
The display includes a range of mango-based products that include mango raita and custard, chutneys, pickles, juices, Biryani. Mango flavored ice creams and bakery products are also available on special promotions.
"I am very happy to see a variety of mangoes from India as it accounts for 60 percent of the global mango production. Saudi Arabia is a major destination for Indian mangoes and related products," Al Tamimi told media persons after touring the festival.
Bashar Naser Al Bashar, head of administration, Lulu Hypermarkets, said, "Summer is synonymous with mangoes. We want to give our customers a variety and choice at great value."
