ARABIAN Centres, the largest developer, owner and operator of shopping malls in Saudi Arabia confirmed its support for the environment with two green initiatives in the last 48 hours. At 8.30 p.m. on March 25, Arabian Centres took part in ‘Earth Hour' by switching off its lights across its malls to support climate change action. The initiative was welcomed by visitors and shopkeepers alike. In a separate initiative, Arabian Centres newly opened Al Hamra Mall hosted an exhibition on ‘Energiewende' - Germany's energy transition policy that focuses on renewable energy and sustainable development. The event was the first time this had been showcased in Saudi Arabia. The event was launched by the German Ambassador and CEO of Arabian Centres and other officials from related sectors.
