Saudi Gazette report
RIYADH — Security forces killed two terror suspects in an exchange of fire in Awamiyah town in Qatif governorate in eastern Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
The officers also arrested four other suspects in a raid on a farm north of Awamiyah, Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki, security spokesman at the Ministry of Interior, announced on Wednesday.
Security officers who were patrolling the area came under attack from the farm and the officers returned fire, killing two terrorists.
The slain men were identified as Muhammad Tahir Al-Namr and Miqdad Muhammad Al-Namr.
The men were hiding in the farm, which belonged to captured extremist Hussein Mohammed Ali Al-Faraj.
Security forces arrested Al-Faraj on Jan. 17. He was involved in a number of terrorist activities in recent months, including the shooting of people and the destruction of public facilities.
According to sources quoted by Al-Arabiya English, fierce clashes erupted as security forces approached the farm to arrest suspects holed up there following the shootout.
According to security sources, all arrested men were Saudis who have been linked to a string of terrorist activities that rocked the restive neighborhood in recent weeks. They were identified as Abdurahman Fadel Al-Abdul Aal, Muhammad Jaafar Al-Abdul Aal, Jaafar Muhammad Al-Farj and Wasfi Ali Al-Quroos.
On March 12, a wanted terrorist was killed in an exchange of fire with the security forces in Awamiyah.
Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki said Waleed Talal Al-Areedh was wounded in the shootout and died in hospital.
He said that no one among the security forces or citizens was hurt in the shootout that took place at around 9 a.m.
It has been found that the killed and arrested terror suspects had a criminal background.
During a raid at two other farms in the town, the security forces seized 130 gallons of acid, some quantity of chemical substance used for making explosives, one gallon of potassium, three magazines of machine guns, and 71 live ammunitions.
