Published in The Saudi Gazette on 05 - 03 - 2017

Prince Faisal Bin Bandar, emir of Riyadh, launched development projects worth more than SR3 billion in Dawadmi and Afif during an inspection tour of the governorates.
During the visit to Dawadmi on Thursday, Prince Faisal inaugurated projects costing a total of SR2.65 billion. These included various civic, health, educational, housing, electricity, water and road projects, in addition to charity, vocational and training projects.
The emir also inspected the progress of work of ongoing development projects costing more than SR1.735 billion.
In his inspection of tour of Afif, Prince Faisal launched development projects worth SR458 million. He also inspected the progress of work of ongoing projects that are estimated to cost more than SR1.28 billion. These projects cover different areas including municipal, health, education, housing, water, electricity, road, and community centers.
At the governorate headquarters in Dawadmi, Prince Faisal met with heads of courts, judges, village and town chiefs, tribal leaders, and several citizens. He listened to their demands and complaints. The emir also attended the meetings of municipal and local councils. He welcomed the proposals and suggestions from male and female members of the councils, especially the priority areas and the handicaps they are facing in implementing development projects in the region.
The meeting was attended by the directors general of various departments in the province, such as the municipality, education, health, housing, labor and social development, electricity, water, roads, agriculture, and environment.
The emir instructed the officials to make available all basic services to the citizens on an urgent footing.
Prince Faisal also attended the grand public receptions hosted by the people of Dawadmi and Afif in honor of him.
In Afif, the emir visited the historic Oud Well. "This well has a history that dates back to the unification of the Kingdom. The aircraft that took King Abdulaziz to Afif had landed near this well, and it was from there he boarded the plane that took him to Taif," Prince Faisal said.
