year-old Filipino boy living and studying in the Kingdom's capital, has launched his second novel here recently. The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh hosted the book launching, which at least 100 young Filipino students attended. Canlapan encouraged them to also write story books. Canlapan presented a copy of the book to Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ezzedin H. Tago, who advised the boy to continue writing and complete his studies. “Snowstorm and the Bond” is Canlapan's second book, which follows the ferocious Snowstorm the Wolf who would do everything in his power to protect his pack and their territory. Because of his stalking skills and deadly strength, Snowstorm becomes the target of manhunts. A war pitting man against beast ensues. A bookworm, Canlapan reads science fiction, suspense and thrillers, according to an Embassy release. Besides writing short stories, Canlapan has a passion for music, writing songs and playing several musical instruments. He would like to become a rapper someday. He is also into sports and plays soccer, basketball and swimming. The boy's father Gerico is a photographer and a Bagong Bayani (New Hero) Awardee for culture and arts. His mother Flordeliza is an Acting Clinical Director of Nursing at the Riyadh Military Hospital. During a radio interview, Canlapan encouraged his readers to “read more books and study. Everyone has a special talent, you just need to find out what that is and use it for your own good.”
