Yemen president orders shifting of parliament to Aden
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 30 - 01 - 2017

Yemeni President Abdrabbu Mansour Hadi ordered the transfer of the headquarters of parliament to the temporary capital of Aden in south Yemen.
According to official Yemeni news agency, President Hadi issued the decree based on the Constitution of Yemen, the Gulf Cooperation Council member states' initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcome of the Comprehensive National Dialogue and the text of Article 66 of the Constitution of Yemen and Article (5) of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of Representatives of Yemen.
The decision came as a result of the compelling security situation and the danger to the lives of the members of the House of Representatives affecting the performance of their legislative and legal duties in Sanaa which is occupied by Houthi militia and coup forces loyal to ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
In this connection Minister of Local Administration, who is also the Head of the High Commission for Relief in Yemen, Abdulraqib Fat'h called on world and humanitarian agencies to put pressure on the pro-coup d'état militias to stop terrorizing people and destroying their houses.
Yemeni official news agency reported that the minister urged UN agencies, notably the World Food Program, to provide basic foodstuff to affected people in Hazm Al-Adin Province .
Military commanding officer in Taiz Maj. Gen. Khalid Fadhel stressed on the need to combine efforts to get rid of the pro-coup militias and the Iranian enterprise.
Yemen's National Army forces supported by Arab Coalition's forces have successfully managed to tighten control on a main road connecting the town of Al-Makha, which had already been liberated from the grip of coup militias and Al-Khokha town on the road to Hodeidah province in the north.
Moreover, the Yemeni national army has thwarted an attack carried out by the coup militias on Al-Sayahi area of Al-Dhabab Directorate in the city of Taiz.
Arab Coalition Forces Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen managed to destroy a military drone in northern Mokha District, Yemen. The military drone was at a mobile launching platform, intended to target Yemeni forces participating in the liberation of Mokha city and Port.
Deputy Chief of General Staff of Yemeni Armed Forces Gen. Ahmed Saif Al-Yafei said that Yemeni forces detected the military drone during surveillance of North Mokha area, adding that the military drone was about to take off for its mission when it was destroyed by an air to surface missile in coordination with the UAE Air Force operating in Yemen, WAM reported.
Meanwhile, Yemen's Agricultural Credit Bank has expressed readiness to cooperate with the Yemeni legitimate government to deliver and disburse government personnel salaries on a monthly basis in all provinces of the country.
The proposal was submitted during a meeting of the bank's executive manager Fares Al-Jaadabi with Vice Premier and Minister of Civil Service Abdulaziz Al-Jabari. — Agencies
