THE BMW 6 Series offers attractive new additions to the range of optional equipment for spring 2017. The options available exclusively for the BMW 6 Series Coupé, the BMW 6 Series Convertible and the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé add touches of striking style to both the exterior and interior, clearly expressing the sporty character of these three upper class models. The range of body finishes is extended with the addition of the variant Sonic Speed Blue metallic, which is now available for the first time. In conjunction with the M sports package configured specifically for each model, the BMW 6 Series Coupé, the BMW 6 Series Convertible and the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé can now also be fitted with the new 20-inch M light alloy wheels in bicolor finish and M specific double-spoke design, including mixed tyres with emergency running properties. Likewise optionally available in combination with the M sports package, the interior trim finishers in Carbon Fibre create a particularly inspiring sports car ambience in the cockpit. These were previously reserved solely for the three variants of the high-performance sports car BMW M6. For 40 years now, a combination of dynamic performance and luxury has been closely associated with the model designation "6". The first generation of the BMW 6 Series Coupé saw its debut in 1976, causing a stir not only with its elegant lines and sporty driving properties but also featuring pioneering innovations. The two-door model was the first serial-production vehicle with a Check Control system. Its direct successor went on the market in 2003. And with the premiere of the BMW 6 Series Convertible a year later, it was possible to combine Sheer Driving Pleasure with the joys of open-top motoring in a luxurious sports car for the first time. The current model generation now offers three vehicle types for dynamic performance, elegance and exclusive appeal in the upper class. For the BMW 6 Series Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 9.3 – 5.4 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 217 – 143 g/km), the BMW 6 Series Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 9.5 – 5.6 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 221 – 149 g/km) and the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 9.4 – 5.5 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 219 – 147 g/km) there is a choice of an in-line 6-cylinder petrol engine with 235 kW/320 hp, a V8 petrol engine with 230 kW/450 hp and an in-line 6-cylinder diesel engine with 230 kW/313 hp for each model. All engines are combined as standard with an 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission. The petrol engine models all feature a sports exhaust system in which constant power delivery is accompanied by a particularly striking engine sound. As an alternative to power transmission to the rear wheels as is typical of the brand, all model variants of the BMW 6 Series are also available with the intelligent all-wheel drive system BMW xDrive. The luxurious fittings of the BMW 6 Series are highlighted by a very stylish interior design and a comprehensive range of standard equipment. The driver and front passenger sit on heatable, lightweight integral seats with integrated belt system and electrical adjustment complete with memory function. All models of the BMW 6 Series also come with standard fittings such as Dakota leather trim, an electrically adjustable multifunctional steering wheel, the navigation package ConnectedDrive including hotspot and phone with wireless charging, the hi-fi speaker system, LED headlamps and an alarm system. The equipment lines Design Pure Experience and Design Pure Excellence are available for selective individualization. Here, carefully harmonized design features for the exterior and interior lend more marked emphasis to either the sporty flair or the exclusive luxury of the model in question. With their exclusive design, select materials and excellent craftsmanship, the BMW Individual options available for the BMW 6 Series models allow even more precise orientation towards personal style. Meanwhile, the respective model-specific versions of the M sports package offer individually tailored dynamic performance including optimization of the car's outward appearance, cockpit design and driving properties.
